Nurses Pay


Her job skills are prototypical but one is exemplary

as she totally rocks the charts when it comes to TLC.


She’s a nurse and she’s OK,

been at it for 40 years and still gets paid

in long hours of brutal shift work and patience testing patients

testing the patience of caregivers, visitors and other patients.

When humor becomes a waif and her world gradually fades

she turns to meditation and prayer - “Is anybody there?”


Deep within the cerebral abyss a sense of Deja Vu persists

as she finds and enters the vault of recompense to discover it’s 

hidden riches

though nary a whiff of tangible value resides inside

the core of her gray matter of fact.


Instead she finds a piece of mind nursing those cherished memories

that foster peace of mind as her world gradually brightens

so that once again she has the vision to see

what allows her to be - a good nurse:

Thankyous, smiles and laughter from infants to the elderly

and the odd bare bum too…

Hugs smiles and giggles from coworkers, family and friends of 

patience.


Nurses Pay works both ways…

She’s a nurse and she’s O.K.!

The Apiary (Plight of the Humble Bees)

Dew you know, of this wee place? It Bee BeeQueen, Fairhaven and Pleasant Hill, Bee Meadowgreen? In nature’s lea may Bee a scene. An active hive, so it seems! Do not be duped, for you must see! Look past the expanse of humanity. Is there a problem? There may not Bee. ‘Trust in God’ and you will see! Fruits borne of labor. The apiary. Beehold a lass toiling hard, Bee side the Bees in her backyard. Her grunts and groans are not alone. A harmonic symphony with the drones! What to name this harvest gold? Something new?  Invoke the auld? Will it be witty?  Will it rhyme? Will it stand the test of time? The dilemma therein is what to call The honey held so dear by all. Is there a problem?
