Wrong Bias

Subtle and easily caught it’s incurable to this day.

Bowls is a rhythmic game for all ages to play.

During the middle of a game I step onto the mat,

Aim out to the right to draw left to the jack.

I deliver a silky smooth bowl that’s right on track.

Right weight right line then it arcs off to the right

Onto the adjacent rink, it’s my tongue I must bite

As the blood rushes to my head, anger anew!

A low blow to the ego and there’s nowhere to hide.

Hard to show a cool exterior when there’s a furnace inside.

Breathe.  Shake it off.  Concentrate.  Deliver.  Follow through.

Two ends later I’ve a difficult choice on what to do?

Concentrate. Concentrate.  Which hand to play?

Breathe.  Shake it off.  Concentrate.  Deliver.  Follow through.

I’ve been overexposed to roll number two!!

Where are they conceived?  Seems so unfair!

A condition specific to all bowlers everywhere

That’s severe for some and for others quite rare.

Like a dormant virus it’s always there.

Beware, don’t share.

More often than not they come as a pair!
